Features of Individual and Group Foreign Language Teaching (Adults)

This research is devoted to the issue of teaching the English language to adults on the basic level (A1, according to CEFR) using two organizational patterns: individual and group teaching. The work relies on the theoretical findings in the sphere of andragogy and phychology. On the basis of the data that was collected after the final test of 52 adult students who were studying at "Oxford" educational centre (departments in Moscow, Nizhny Novgorod and Saint Petersburg) a comparative analysis was conducted. The results of this comparison brought the author to several conclusions concerning the most prevalent and the most effective organizational pattern (group or individual) in "Oxford" educational centre in 2018-2019 academic year.
