Role of Clinical Guidelines in Quality and Safety Management of Medical Activities

The paper outlines the main regulatory legal mechanisms for managing the components of the quality of medical care in the Russian Federation according to the Donabedian triad. The relationships of the main legal documents regulating the quality of the process of providing medical care are shown, attention is focused on the increasing risks of contradictions in the procedures for providing medical care and clinical recommendations. The prerequisites for securing the regulatory legal status of clinical guidelines are identified. According to the results of the evaluation of expert opinions received from independent competent respondents, clinical recommendations seem to be effective and promising tools for managing the quality of medical care, the safety of medical activities, and also a tool for reducing the number of medical mistakes provided that the clinical guidelines are followed.
