Development of the Main Provisions of the Ethics Code of Russian Universities. The Case of Academic Fraud

Academic fraud is a major problem for modern universities. One of the methods of preventing academic fraud can be the introduction of ethical codes in universities. This work is devoted to the development of a draft code of students for HSE. The project is focused on the application of theoretical knowledge to the creation of a new intellectual product - a code of ethics for students. This paper aims at exploring and generation model provisions of the code of ethics for HSE based on the best practices of Russian and foreign universities, taking into account the main forms of academic fraud (cheating and plagiarism). Project research is based on a case analysis of academic fraud. In this work used the method content analysis. The optimal idea is the project idea of creating a regulatory code. In the process of research, the main forms of academic fraud in universities (cheating and plagiarism) were established. According to the study, a model code of ethics was developed, which can be the basis for developing other university codes. At the same time, practical recommendations on the prevention of academic fraud are given.
