Party System in the Russian Federation and its Impact on the Constitutional Process

This thesis focuses on the current state of party system of the Russian Federation by the description of its key legal institutions. The author seeks to present a detailed legal model of party system of the Russian Federation using case study, legalistic method and historical and legal method. The thesis describes patterns of the evolution of party system of Post-Soviet Russia, showing that the ignoring systemic linkages between legal design and factual state of parties leads to inefficiency of both party and electoral systems in the long run. The thesis consists of introduction, main body divided into two parts and conclusion. Introduction contains the general overview of the subject of research. The first part contains overview on the evolution of the party and electoral systems in the Russian Federation and formulated on its base model of Russian party system. The second part of the thesis is devoted to practical political activity of parties during and after Duma elections of 2016 via constitutionally guaranteed procedures and its influence on public policy. Conclusion part contains main conclusions from the research.
