The present study examines the analysis of the meanings of the word “okno” (window), systematizes them and identifies semantic components (semes). The study is not limited to the consideration of the word meanings in the Russian language dictionaries , but rather analyzes it in the context of the Russian lyrics of the XIX-XXth centuries. This combination of the analysis makes it possible to determine as many new unusual word meanings as possible and to select the most complete set of semes. Much attention is paid to the verbal, adjectival and substantive compatibility of the language unit “okno”. Special computer tools “AntConc” and “Yandex Tomita Parser” are used to define it. The frequency of lexico-semantic groups is represented with graphs and the meanings of the word “okno” are given in a summary table. Attention is also drawn to the metaphorization of this word, through which new meanings have appeared. The analysis of the Russian lyrics of the XIX–XXth centuries allowed not only to expand the set of semantic components for each dictionary meaning of the language unit “okno”, but also to reveal its new meanings.
