New Developments of Esports in Interactive Digital Communication Era

Esports is a competitive based playing of video games. Despite its rising economic importance, esports is still an understudied phenomenon. The main theme of this research is the identification of future trends in the field of esports, including emerging technologies, new ways of servicization and distribution platforms. Moreover, esports is a fusion product between sport, media, games and technology, which requires a different approach to studying similar phenomena like electronic gaming or console games. Due to the recent nature of the subject, the opinions of field experts will provide the main input. This thesis also wishes to understand the visions within media communication. Esports are just the beginning of a new era of digital interaction. This theme also suggests the concept of the human being enhanced by the aid of technological developments. In fact, this sector represents an opportunity for technological developments capable of testing products on players.
