Student: Kasyanova Anna

Supervisor: Sergey L. Korzun

Faculty: Faculty of Creative Industries

Educational Programme: Media Communications (Bachelor)

Year of Graduation: 2019

The purpose of this study was to analyze the characteristics of lifestyle in the modern Russian province within the framework of Soviet-era markers, rooted in the post-Soviet space, as well as identifying the factors influencing these markers on various social groups. Both theoretical (analysis, classification, analogy) and practical (observation, comparison, interview, questioning) research methods were selected for the work. Both textual (polls) and audio-visual (photographs, video) materials collected in Petrozavodsk, Karelia in the period from 2018 to 2019 are the empirical base. Before the beginning of the study, the following hypothesis was put forward: the main postulates and aspects of the life of Soviet society in the modern Russian outback remained due to topographical, cultural, historical and social factors. And also, it is assumed that the structure and rules of Soviet life are still present in the minds of residents of regions outside millionaire cities.
