China's Foreign Policy Strategy in Central Asia in the Era of Xi Jinping

This paper analyzes the main patterns and factors that shape China’s foreign policy strategy towards Central Asia over the past decade. For this purpose, the paper researches various aspects of China’s bilateral diplomacy with Central Asian countries on a separate and regional scale, comprehensive benefits, the role of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region as a bridge, and the dynamics of the Russian presence activity. Identifying the patterns and factors that shape China’s strategy over the past decade will help gain a more in-depth understanding of the dynamics of the Chinese presence in the region, thereby build own strategy in this region.
