Service for Automatic Generation of Reports in Air-ticket Sales Agency
System and Software Engineering
(Master’s programme)
2019
Service for Automatic Generation of Reports in Air-ticket Sales Agency helps the users generate automatically reports with minimum efforts and manual tasks. The main users are sales managers, financial managers and directors of the air ticket sales agencies. The ticket data is uploaded from booking systems (Global Distribution System) and then manipulated for updating the final sums of the tickets (with application of commission fees of agencies, taxes, some charges and discounts). After that users can generate reports basing on this data. System provides two types of reports: external and internal reports. External reports are formed according to predefined standardized forms to report to companies from whom they buy tickets. Internal reports include analytical visualization and consolidated reports and aimed at company’s sales analysis purposes.

System gives the user flexible tool for application rules for adding commission fees, necessary charges, etc. It also solves the problem of currency rate changes thanks to the tool that automatically updates the rate in the system every day and applies calculations immediately in the reports. Exchange rates are updated online by connecting to the site of a particular bank. It differs from existing reporting tools as it is flexible and easy to configure. The systems of the same industry are mainly performing function for booking the tickets, and doesn’t consider reporting part, and don’t have a tool for adding the calculations related to agency commission, fees, and etc. The system has practical value and solves some challenges with data processing.
