The Efficiency of Price Competition in the Telecommunications Market in Russia
The main purpose of this research is to determine if the price competition can take place in an oligopoly market. The object of the study are Russian telecommunication companies, the Big 3 and Tele2. A price of a gigabyte, a minute and an SMS of each operator will be compared throughout 4 years in order to find any correlation between market price of tariffs and market power of a company. It is expected that there is a bond between those metrics, but not in every region of the country such situation will appear. There must be other reasons for successful integration of Tele2 into telecommunication market as well which will also be examined.
