Political Endorsements of Hip-Hop Artists in US (2004-)

The research is devoted to the cases of Hip-Hop artists’ endorsement towards political candidates and authorities in US. The purpose og the study is to explore the political endorsements of Hip-Hop artists in the US, their socio-political activism and participation in presidential campaigns by analyzing the discourse of artists' music and statements. The theoretical part of this research is based on celebrity studies, specifically the celebrity politics and celebrity endorsement. The research aims to identify if Hip-Hop artists’ endorsements were inspiring enough to motivate youth to vote and which candidates Hip-Hop artists were supporting the most.
