Development of the Employee Insurance Process in a Holding Company

Nowadays every socially oriented employer, in particular large holding companies, with a view to increase the prestige of work in their organization and attract valuable employees, offers candidates personal insurance programs. The employee insurance process in a holding company depends on a group organizational structure and an interaction and management form between the parent and subsidiary companies. Currently, shared services centers (SSC) are becoming more popular in international and Russian practice. Concentrating operations on insurance of employees in SSC let the company unify and standardize the process, reduce errors, save financial and labor resources that increase process efficiency in a company as a whole. The significance of the project is attributed to the fact that as long as employee insurance is a widespread practice in holding companies, it is necessary to build a high-quality employee insurance process for each company. It can be achieved through a comprehensive analysis of the business process and offering measures for improving it. Moreover, the project is relevant for the largest integrated petrochemical company in Russia – PJSC “SIBUR Holding”. It is important to analyze the employee insurance process in the company and offer measures for its improvement because there were a large number of errors in the business process in 2018. One of the errors led to serious financial losses of the company. The aim of the thesis is to build AS IS model of the employee insurance process in PJSC “SIBUR Holding”, identify risks of the process, offer the measures for improving this process, select the most effective measures and build TO BE model of the process. The first part of the thesis incudes the basic concepts, a top-level description of the business process, the approaches for improving business processes and proposed algorithm for improving the employee insurance process in the company. The second part describes the enterprise and the department that responsible for the employee insurance process. Also it includes: AS IS model of the employee insurance process SIBUR; the business process risk map; the results of the assessment of the internal control system of the employee insurance process. The third part is devoted to offering measures for improving the process, selecting the most effective measures and building TO BE model of the employee insurance process in SIBUR.
