The present study is devoted to the research of the technology for creating and developing an educational online course as a media product. The paper concentrates on case of the Company Dancehelp.ru that produces online courses for professional community of choreographers. The study summarized the current data on the both, global and Russian, markets of online education and identified the main trends of their development, as well as the educational preferences of the Russian audience. During the expert interviews, the main stages and tools for creating an online course as a media product were identified.
