This paper studies interdependence of Chinese ruling elite and the country's energy policy at the beginning of the 21st century, furthermore, it covers such topics as: Chinese politics’ direct influence on the work of energy enterprises, presence or absence of communication between the ruling elite and the government groups and the current situation on the country's energy market. This work is based on news and articles from Internet libraries as well as on current publications of scholars in such fields as political science and energy. The publications, however, vary in their interpretation of the topic. Data obtained from online databases, on the contrary, indicate that there is no correlation between the two concepts. In order to address the research gap and to establish the presence or absence of communication between the Chinese government and commercial energy enterprises of the country, we will use mixed-methods research approach. The results of the paper are expected to point out specific features of relations between the political elite and famous energy corporations of China.
