In the contemporary media sphere YouTube is holding significant place. As a rule, opinion leaders, who chose this platform as a base for their activity, have a great influence on their audience’s opinion. Therefore, news blogs are objects of big interest. That is so due to the fact that the information they provide is given through a certain prism of subjectivity. Main goal of this research is to determine the level of competitiveness between news video blog and traditional news mass media. Research methods are statistical data analysis, comparing the content of traditional news media with the content of popular news blogs. This research’s goal is also identifying the differences between the news video blog and the news media content. The important question that this research aims to answer is whether the news video blog can be considered as a journalistic genre?
