The work is devoted to the study of the influence of Chinese migrants on the cultural and business life of the Irkutsk region (2000-2018). It examines the social and legal status of Chinese migrants, identifies their main economic activities in the region. Based on the study, the author identified the problems associated with the diaspora under study. It was confirmed that despite the outward signs of improved relations between China and Russia, there are still serious concerns among the local population in the region .
