A strong primary health care system is key to the effective operation of the entire health care system in the country. Therefore, studies of primary health care and general medical practice as one of the models of primary health care do not lose their relevance. In Russia, in the absence of uniform requirements on the part of federal authorities, the regions independently make decisions regarding the development of general medical practice. This paper describes the experience of developing general medical practice in six subjects of the Russian Federation and analyzes the similarities and differences in regional approaches to the development of general medical practice in Russia.
