This work is devoted to the influence of sanctions on modifications in the foreign policy of authoritarian states. The study showed that sanctions, regardless of their success or failure, have an impact on transformations both in domestic and in foreign policy of the state. The main focus is on identifying modifications occurring in the foreign policy of an authoritarian state during the period of sanctions restrictions. The paper also presents important factors and conditions that can influence modifications in the foreign policy indexes of non-democratic countries. Empirically, the influence of the described conditions on the modifications in the foreign policy of authoritarian states under restrictions is tested using qualitative comparative analysis (QCA) on the example of 7 non-democratic states that are under the pressure of sanctions. In addition, for confirmation of the arguments and theories a case study of Russia will be conducted, where all transformations in the foreign political and economic indicators of the state under the sanctions will be indicated in detail.
