Determinants of Non-Standard Employment in Russia: The Empirical Analysis
Economics
(Bachelor’s programme)
2019
The Russian labor market is distinguished by its enormous potential. Nevertheless, this topic deserves special attention, because there is so-called non-standard employment, which currently tends to develop. This work is devoted to the search and analysis of the determinants of this type of employment on the basis of informal employment and self-employment. RLMS-HSE will be used to collect data about the specific factors of the non-standard employment in Russia.

In this paper, the main preferences of informally employed and self-employed were identified. Thus, the majority of informal workers are found in sectors such as trade, construction, transport and manufacturing. For unofficially self-employed can be identified the same areas, but adding to them the sphere of culture. It is also worth noting that all the factors that have been considered in this work have more or less the same impact on the individual when choosing a particular form of non-standard employment, which confirms the theory that self-employed are usually considered informally employed and considered together.
