The issue of the value of the company has been vigorously discussed over the last few years, as its estimation is significant for both interested parties and the company itself. It permits companies to attract new investors, clients, get bank loans and optimize the company’s strategy. For that reason it is essential to study factors that can alter the value. The problem of taxation is quite relevant considering the recent amendments in the legislation of the USA and still there is not enough evidence indicating in which way different types of taxation could affect market value, especially when talking about fuel and energy companies, because the number of studies on this particular topic is scarce. The objective of our research is to identify and estimate the influence of alterations in taxation on the USA fuel and energy companies’ value. In our study we implement mixed-methods research design, though the major emphases are put on correlational and evaluative designs. We use quantitative data collection methods, c’est-a-dire correlation and regression, and both qualitative and quantitative data analysis, specifically content analysis and econometric approach. Key words: market value, fuel and energy companies, changes in taxation, USA tax system, tax rate, tax legislation
