«Smart Power» in the United Arab Emirates` Foreign Policy at the Current Stage

In today’s international relations, small states have started to play an increasing role conducting political and military activities in the international arena. The current research explores the foreign policy of the Arabian Gulf’s small state – the United Arab Emirates. The study attempts to define the role and specifics of smart power in the UAE’s foreign policy. The research involves identifying key tools of smart power that are used by UAE to achieve goals and realize national interests. In addition, the study examines a connection between the smart power in the UAE’s foreign policy and the smallness of the Emirates and its position in the system of international relations.
