Unprecedented flows of persecuted migrants from countries with underdeveloped or crisis economies in search of a better life rushed into Europe in the beginning of 2015. Unprecedented public outcry and media coverage of the dramatic evets in the Mediterranean region draw major research attention to the issue. Many papers were dedicated to the evaluation of EU migration policies, however, there are still few studies analyzing the migrant flows’ influence on the destination countries’ economies. Therefore, the major goal of the study is to bridge this gap by estimating the impact of the recent migrant flow on the EU counties’ economies by examining three of the most active participants in the refugee flow: Germany, Sweden and Italy. The study will be based on the data collected from the open databases such as Eurostat, World Bank and the United Nations Databases for Refugees (UNHCR), which will later be analyzed for possible correlation with standardized indicators of host economies’ performance.
