Paranoia

Boris Krepilin, the main character of the novel "Paranoia", has a prestigious job in a bank. He has both feet on the ground and keeps his halo of success outside. He has been married for many years, his daughter is growing up. The protagonist is going through what seems to be a common middle-age crisis. His usual business and family life are getting broken, and he is beging to notice that something is wrong with the world around him. The objects are losing their shapes. The days are passing by in a half-away state. Krepilin shares his family problems with his friend. This friend, just for a laugh, tells him an ancient legend about doppelganger brides and grooms, who substitute the real ones during the wedding day (that is supposed to explain unhappy marriages). Boris treats this story in his own way by reflecting it on his life. Meanwhile, he is about to be introduced to an interesting woman from the creative environment. She lets him in her intimate circle and convinces him that he has a talent, the question is which one....
