Liquidity crisis is one of the most difficult market events to predict, especially due to growing interconnectedness between various institutions. The bank management and central banks of world banking systems have to identify main factors of liquidity risk and define suitable strategy for a bank and the whole banking system to eliminate this kind of risks. There is an instrument as a system of early warning indicators for making timely decisions to manage bank’s liquidity. The aim of the study is to construct the system of early warning indicators for timely prediction of liquidity crises. Due to special features of liquidity crises the early warning system was complemented by indicators clarifying the modelling of the ‘bank runs’ effect and news background of a banking system.
