The Concept of Reasonable Time in Civil Procedure

The present study is devoted to the concept of a reasonable time requirement of judicial proceedings in the arbitration process. In the framework of this work, the author has carried out a detailed analysis of the historical development of the concept of reasonable time and of the fight against protracted litigation in Russia and in foreign countries, the definition of a reasonable period of judicial proceedings, the problem of its correlation with related concepts enshrined in procedural legislation, such as timely review of the case and Procedural terms. Also, the approach to the interpretation of Section 1, Art. 6 of the European Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms of November 4, 1950 in the practice of the European Court of Human Rights is concerned. The study can be of interest for practicing lawyers, law enforcement officials, judges, human rights defenders, lawyers, as well as students of law schools and faculties
