Political Aspects of Russian-German Industrial Cooperation in Case of Automotive Industry at the Present Stage

In this paper industrial cooperation of Russia and Germany is analyzed with the emphasis put on countries’ cooperation in automotive sector. In general, Russian-German economic partnership is strategic for both countries. Nevertheless, in the framework of modern international relations Russia is forced to carry out its political and economic cooperation under US and EU sanctions. This fact affects the terms of industrial cooperation in automotive industry in particular as well as investment attractiveness of the country in general. The author makes comparison of Russian and German approaches to the implementation of industrial policies of countries. Furthermore, author describes the cases of successful cooperation between Russia and Germany in automotive sector. The purpose of this paper is to find out the influence of bilateral political relations between Russia and Germany on the industrial cooperation of countries addressing the process of interaction in the automotive industry. According to the research, conducted by the author economic benefit of German automakers prevails over the political attitude of the world community towards Russia.
