Year of Graduation: 2019

The Graduation paper “Transformation of the Brazilian Policy Towards BRICS at the Present Stage” contains 65 pages of text, 77 sources used and literature, 155 references, 16 appendices. The relevance of the research work is that today Brazil is experiencing an internal political crisis, which affects the foreign policy including the policy towards BRICS. Brazil's reorientation towards its American and European partners in foreign policy may doubt the Brazil’s participation in BRICS union, up to Braxit, Brazil’s withdrawal from BRICS. It is assumed that this research will contribute to the study of Brazilian policy in BRICS, since the foreign policy changed in 2016, and the question of Brazil's activity in BRICS remains urgent both in the scientific and political environment. The object of the research is the role of BRICS in the international arena since 2008. The subject of the research is the transformation of Brazil’s policy towards BRICS. The purpose of this study is to identify how the economic and political aspects of Brazil’s participation in BRICS have changed from 2008 to the present - whether Brazil will continue its participation in this union or will exit. The study will confirm the following hypothesis: despite the fact that right-wing politicians have come to power in Brazil and a new foreign policy have been proclaimed without BRICS as a priority, Brazil may not decrease its participation in this union and may not leave it, because BRICS is an important tool for promoting independent foreign policy and lobbying for national and Latin American interests.
