This paper is devoted to the analysis of the regulatory policies of the Central Banks of the Russian Federation and Spain aimed at resolving the crisis in the banking systems of these countries. The analysis is performed for such parameters as the share of non-performing loans, an increase in financial assets, the number of branches per 100,000 people. In the course of the paper, the methods of vector autoregressive modelling, correlation analysis and identification of relationships in the dynamics of growth curves were used. That paper demonstrates the reasons and prerequisites for the election of certain instruments used by Central Banks were identified, based on the fundamental reasons that were displayed by statistical evidence. The main drawback of the analysis is a fairly short period of time, during which the results could be obtained on the part of the reforms on the part of the government and the presence of differences in the structure of the banking systems of these countries.
