The American movie market currently experiences new trends, which reshape the whole industry. These trends include an increased number of movie franchises and 3D films. Also, China is becoming the leading movie market in the world. This study examines the influence of new trends on movies’ box-offices. The new trends have not influenced the overall performance of the Hollywood movies during the last 10 years.
