This paper explores the corporate social responsibility (CSR) in China on the example of two large telecommunication companies Huawei and Xiaomi starting from 2011 and till the present time, mainly cowering the scope of how the CSR initiatives influence the companies’ overall image, its appeal to the stakeholders and competitiveness on the market. Within the topic we examined and analyzed several works of experts in CSR. Even though there has been a lot of research conducted we still observe the lack of literature on CSR strategies in a specific economic sector – telecommunications. Hence, in order to conduct a more detailed research and fill the literature gap we will employ a multimethod research design, which will include comparative and qualitive content analysis as well as quantitative data analysis. Author hopes that this study will add to the existing knowledge on CSR in China and will be helpful to future researchers.
