Labor activity of athletes is distinguished by its specificity, therefore, the legislation regulating the labor discipline of this category of workers must meet it, taking into account the behavior of athletes not only during participation in sports competitions, but also during non-working hours. The mechanism of legal regulation, enshrined in Russian legislation, currently does not fully meet the main task of the disciplinary responsibility of employees - the prevention of cases of violation of labor discipline. The main purpose of this work is to study the institution of disciplinary responsibility in general, as well as the specifics of bringing to disciplinary responsibility of such a category of workers as athletes, as well as consideration of existing problems in the legislation and elaboration of proposals for overcoming them. The paper reveals the content of the concept of disciplinary responsibility, examines the institution of special disciplinary responsibility, as well as the possibility of bringing an athlete to special disciplinary responsibility. In addition, the issue of bringing athletes to disciplinary responsibility for the violation of sports ethics The thesis formulates proposals for improving the legislation regulating the disciplinary responsibility of athletes, including the adoption of a special regulatory act regulating the activities of athletes.
