Merges and Acquisition in Russian Banking Sector

With the introduction of a system of counteracting macroeconomic risks into the world and Russian practice and stricter requirements for commercial banks, the number of financial organizations is significantly reduced, and the concentration of assets and the increase in government weight in this sector are growing rapidly. In this regard, this paper examines the processes of mergers and acquisitions in Russian banks in the context of strengthening bank control in the period from 2008 to 2018 and their impact on the financial performance of institutions, which seems to us relevant and interesting direction of research.
