Brief history. From the Big Bang to artificial intelligence. Late Middle Ages, Age of Enlightenment, Industrial Revolution In our work, we focused on the study of periods when the world and society underwent a significant transformation. The era of the Late Middle Ages (or Renaissance), the Age of Enlightenment, Industrial Revolution may be named a transitional, even a turning point in history. It was a time of fundamental scientific discoveries and inventions, the era of the formation and broadening of the knowledge. Particularly at this time the foundations of modern society were formed and established. There were created the conditions to occur scientific, technical and information revolution in the XX century. The visual culture of this period is also extremely rich, diverse. Therefore, in our work we set the task to present the main events (scientific discoveries, inventions, ideas, knowledge, etc.) of selected eras through the objects of visual culture. At the same time, it was necessary to select the content, taking into account its diversity, as well as to subordinate the structure developed by us (thematic plan, which includes important events of these periods). The selection of illustrations was carried out taking into account the further transformation of the material into a book intended for audience of children. The basis consists of art, objects and illustrations. Photographs are almost completely absent. As a result of the study, it was possible to present the “visual” side of the late Middle Ages, the era of Enlightenment, Industrial revolution. We tried to show how changing humanity is reflected in the materials of visual culture, including works of art. The work turned out to build a complete and structured historical paradigm in which the emphasis was placed on the creative, innovative achievements and also the foundations for the further development of the transformation in society and in the personalities of people.
