The object of our research is the directions of Chinese policy towards Africa from 1978 to 2018. And the subject is the relations between China and Libya from 1978 to 2018. In our work, we will discuss economic and political factors which influence the relationship between Beijing and Tripoli. In fact, the relations between the two countries tend to be very diverse. Libya for China is a huge domestic market with growing purchasing power and an entire army of potential and, moreover, low-paid workers. Besides, in recent years, China also tries to return its positions in Libya and include the country in its One Belt One Road initiative, which makes the topic more relevant. And finally, Libya can become one of the footholds of Chinese economic expansion to Central Africa to gain its resource base.
