The Evolution of the Public Model of Television Broadcasting: PSB Comparative Analysis

The research analyzes the evolution of public model of television broadcasting in European countries. The author attempts to give a definition of public model broadcasting. The author examines the historical development of public model of television broadcasting in Great Britain, Germany, Estonia, Spain, France and Switzerland and conducts comparative analysis among public channels in these countries. The author pays attention to the methods that public channels use to adapt to current media market conditions. Also, this research focuses on the specific of establishing and development of public channel in Russia in comparison with the above-mentioned models. The author raises the question about the possibility to implement the experience of European public channels to enchance the competitive advantages of OTR in Russian realities.
