Each year the number of cars sold grows very fast. On the one hand, it is the stimulation of the economies for those countries that are leaders in the production of cars. But along with economic growth, the increasing number of cars worsen air pollution and depletion of oil resources. In order not to worsen the situation, in many countries began the introduction of electric transport through the financial and non-material incentives. However, the availability of even state support does not guarantee that the share of electric vehicles in the country will increase dramatically. For example, in Norway, which is the third country in the world by the number of sold electric vehicles, the share of electric vehicles is 60%, while in the United States, which is the second largest supplier of alternative vehicles, the share of electric cars is only 2.1%. The purpose of this study is not only to analyze and compare two countries on approaches to the promotion of electric vehicles, but also to build a forecast of the share and sales of electric vehicles until 2025 using regression analysis. One of the important parts of this study is the task of conducting factor analysis in order to identify the relationship between such indicators as the presence of incentives, developed infrastructure and sales of electric vehicles. The results obtained in the last chapter may help to assess the effectiveness of certain incentives and strategies of electric vehicle promotion. And for practical purposes it can be useful for those countries that would like to promote electric transport, but not sure which incentives to use.
