The research is mainly aimed at identifying changes in the assessments of the causes for the defeat during Chinese “national” revolution from 1925 to 1927, which had been given by the revolution contemporaries and by Soviet, Russian and Chinese historiography during 1950s-2010s. Moreover this paper identifies the reasons for the formation of opinion at different historical stages, and compares their similarities and differences.
