Thesis paper is devoted to the problem of social climate in single-industry urban settlements. The dependence of the socio-economic sphere of a monotown company on the functioning of a city-forming enterprise has been studied, and the features of the labor market of this specific municipal unit have been identified. A survey of the population of the town of Chusovoy of the Perm Krai (Russia) conducted during the study made it possible to identify basic adaptive strategies of the single-industry town's population to staff-cuts at a city-forming enterprise.
