Cooperation with the SCO in ASEAN's Current Policy

This thesis is devoted to study the development of cooperation between ASEAN and the SCO in the context of modern policies of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations. The study is carried out from the perspective of the theory of “academic neoliberalism” which allows to make a detailed study of the build-up of interrelations between the integration blocks of the Asia-Pacific region. The study focuses on approaches and instruments of cooperation of ASEAN with the global dialogue platforms, taking into account it’s impact on the development of cooperation with the SCO in the framework of the new concept of “ASEAN 2025: Forward Together”. During the analysis of the work, the evolution of the formation of ASEAN-SCO relations is examined. The institutional cooperation and the main directions of interaction between organizations are studied at the present stage. The thesis also defines the tasks for the further work of ASEAN and the SCO in ensuring and implementing the Big Eurasia project, which responds to the strategic priorities of implementing the foreign policy of ASEAN and the SCO.
