Japan is considered to be a country in which corruption is completely absent. However, the loud corruption scandals of the second half of the 20th century showed that there is political corruption in Japan at the highest levels of government. This work is devoted to identifying the features and causes of political corruption in Japan on the example of cases of disclosed corruption scandals.
