At the beginning of the work various organizational structures are considered, a description is given of the dependence of an organization’s innovative capacity on the basis of its organizational structure. Since there is no universal organizational structure that could allow an organization to comply with external changes, it is necessary to assess the current state and implement innovations in order to remain competitive. The following are ways to assess the organizational structure of organizations using coefficients. They allow you to determine the overall ratio of the result to the resources expended. But these methods do not take into account the complexity of the organizational structure, it is not possible to determine which structural unit makes the most significant contribution to costs or to the result and how the costs will change if the organizational structure becomes more complex or simplified. The paper describes a method for estimating resource costs, depending on its complexity, using an approach in which it is possible to determine the effect of the existing structure on the total costs of operation. This method allows the assessment of potential changes in resource expenditure with the complexity of the system. The considered method of estimating the cost of resources for the functioning of the system has been applied to calculate the costs of various organizational structures and it has been shown that this method is applicable for evaluating any organizational structure, from linear to matrix. This method allowed us to numerically determine the loss of an organization during the transition from one organizational structure to another. This method of estimating the costs of the system made it possible to evaluate the organizational structure of the laboratory of “Carbon composite and organites” existing at FSUE “VIAM” and predict costs when various changes are made to this organizational structure depending on the increase in costs.
