Maritime Cooperation between Japan and the US Along the Forthcoming Indo-Pacific Region

The maritime security is a key element of economic and political stability for many states of Asia-Pacific region. Nevertheless, there are many contradictions between the Asian countries in South China Sea, East China Sea which significantly challenge the regional security and hinder the relations between conflicting parties. The increased activities around the disputed territories have attracted considerable attention from the researchers. This paper seeks to explore the issue of maritime cooperation between the USA and Japan in South China Sea (SCS), East China Sea (ECS) along the forthcoming Indo-Pacific region during the recent years. The purpose of the study is to establish the impact of Indo-Pacific initiative on Japan-US cooperation in the field of maritime security.
