Recent studies have paid close attention to the rapid expansion of sharing economy around the World. Today sharing personal assets as accommodation or others with a stranger is common. However, depending on the product category, people willingness to rent out own goods differs. This research focuses on P2P exchanges between people, in particular, P2P carsharing development in Russia and one customer group: vehicle owners. The main goal of this research is to investigate the variables which influence the propensity of cars owner to share own automobile with other drivers in Russia. To this end, we have conducted a survey of (n=150) respondents throughout Russia to examine their readiness to rent out their vehicles to other people. The results of the research have concluded that no characteristics such as age, expenses, marital status, city population, cost of a vehicle and driving hours are influencing the decision to share own car with others or not. The variables that affect the decisions are gender, cultural standards and norms, and level of trust to other people. To finalize the research, we have come up with a mechanism to overcome P2P carsharing adoption barriers for potential car providers and recommendations for entrepreneurs in P2P carsharing business.
