This article examines the effect of the age of immigrants moving to Russia on the level of their wages. Evaluations in the work were carried out on panel data of the Russian Monitoring of the Economic Situation and Public Health of the HSE for 2015–2017. The sample included the employed population, men between the ages of 18 and 60 years old and women between the ages of 18 and 55 years. To estimate the data, the least squares method was used, as well as the model considering random individual effects. At the first stage of the analysis, the models were evaluated considering the number of years of residence in the country and taking into account the socio-demographic characteristics of immigrants. Then, at the second stage, additional binary variables were added to the models for the age of immigrants. The results of calculations showed that the number of years of residence has a positive effect on the wages of immigrants. Also, the results indicate that wages are higher for those immigrants who moved at a younger age. The wage gap reaches 40% between immigrants who have moved at different ages. Such a gap can be explained by several factors: the level of productivity of immigrants, the presence of local education, the level of education, knowledge of the local language, cultural traditions and others.
