Currently the IT industry is experiencing its heyday: its share in the GDP of most countries is growing steadily, and companies operating in this industry are included in all key world rankings. All of this would be impossible without the contribution of IT specialists – key employees of such organizations. Based on these factors, we can not deny the need for a special personnel management system in IT organizations, considering all the specifics of the main contingent of employees. This can help to solve or smooth out the main problem faced by most IT companies - the lack of manpower with the necessary skills. The aim of this study is to identify key features in the practice of personnel management in international IT companies. As the main methods of research, the author uses analysis of relevant literature, statistical analysis, a survey of young IT professionals and a case study based on the review of the HR function operation in such companies as Google (Alphabet) and Yandex. The conclusions presented in the second and third chapters should help companies which increase their pool of IT personnel to organize an effective HR management system.
