World Economy
(Master’s programme)
2019
The thesis is devoted to the study of tourism services export from Russia to the EU countries. The main objective is to identify different barriers obstructing the growth of the tourist flow from the EU countries to the Russian Federation. In addition, the paper formulates a list of recommendations aimed at increasing the number of tourists arriving in Russia from the countries of the European Union. The problem presented in the work is revealed through the analysis of such aspects as current development trends of the world economy and their influence on the global tourism industry development , the current state of the tourism industry in Russia, the main drivers of its development and the structure of inbound tourism flow with a focus on EU countries. Among the factors of negative impact on exports of tourist services volume from Russia are institutional barriers (visa regime), political tensions and the low level of development of tourism infrastructure. Thus, the solution of the above problems, combined with an increase in the number of business trips and the further development of event tourism can lead to a significant growth in the export of tourist services from Russia, in particular, to increase the attractiveness of Russia as a tourism destination for the European Union countries.

Key words: tourism, export of tourist services, tourist industry of Russia, visa regime, outbound tourism from EU countries.
