In this presentation, the main topic is to identify and characterize the characteristics of the influence of the activities of innovatively active companies on the social and economic development of territories. The analysis of foreign experience in creating successful national innovation systems, which influenced the development of territories, was carried out. Also in this paper an analysis of the innovation system of two constituent entities of the Russian Federation.
