This research presents an evaluation of the effectiveness of the company development strategy in the new developing sector of the genetic engineering on the example of one of the market leaders - the Illumina Inc. This company is engaged in the development and improvement of genetic analytic systems. Also there will be considered the problems, which companies engaged in genetic engineering face, and the importance of their development in economic and technological sphere. The demand for Illumina products has greatly increased over the past ten years. The main clients are various universities specializing in the study of genes, pharmacological centers and various biotechnological companies. The growth of global investments in biotechnological projects and genetic engineering is associated with a projected potential and huge profits in various sectors of the economy. Scientific discoveries and technological research in the field of genetics affect the main areas of human life, such as medicine and pharmaceuticals, industry, agriculture and food production, and many others. Companies engaged in research and development in the field of genetic engineering whose goal of expanding business beyond research laboratories are the engine of progress. The development of genetic engineering and the use of genetic modifications in the production of goods and the implementation of medical technologies is justified by the economic efficiency of introducing innovative genetic technologies and influences the development of the world economy as a whole.
