In this work I analyze the attempts of the Scandinavian unification that occurred in 1741-1743, 1810 and 1830s-1840s. While these attempts are usually pictured as logical continuation and gradual acceleration of the Nordic sentiments, I argue that there were ruptures in the ways Scandinavian unions were imagined and justified.
