Accounting and Audit of Investment Property in accordance to Russian and International Standards

The final qualifying work presents a study of accounting and audit of investment property according to international and Russian standards. Russian accounting standards (PBU 6/01 "Accounting for fixed assets") are compared with international financial reporting standards (IAS 40 "Investment property", IAS 16 "Fixed assets"). The work focuses on the impact of the key features of different accounting systems on the financial statements and financial condition of the enterprise. The study includes the review of the existing approaches to accounting for real estate investments, as well as the methods of assessing these objects and choosing the best. The practical part of the work is aimed at accounting and audit of investment real estate in JSC "Techsnabexport". The result of the study is the creation of information and methodological support of the audit in JSC "Techsnabexport" and recommendations for improving the system of accounting and control of this asset.
